There are 24 bus routes sending more than 220 buses an hour along Oxford Street and Regent Street. Besides of the retailers, the Westminster Council has received complaints from customers too about excessive traffic congestion. The TFL is acting upon the Westminster council's suggestions, the shoppers on Oxford Street seem to be worried.
As the Westminster Council said, millions of pounds have already been spent on improving the area. And here is yet another step in the direction, aimed at further improving the shopping experience of the visitors.
In order to provide a better shopping experience, the transport for London has decided to reduce the number of buses by 10% by the end of the year, and another 10% by the end of next year, after recommendation of Westminster Council.
